Stu Noble and Andy Hunt, of SCR Classic Motorcycles, initially just worked on their own bikes, then extended to friends’ machines and across the race paddocks to competitors’ mounts. But now they are offering their services to classic bike enthusiasts alongside their successful design and fabrication business, Steelcraft.
Beyond the usual workshop facilities, SCR has the skills and equipment to provide services such as aqua blasting, stainless and aluminium welding, machining and cylinder head gas flowing. Stu and Andy built and calibrated their own flow test rig which, with a clever bit of software, can produce charts detailing the resulting improvements.

They will provide nut and bolt restoration for show bikes, whether it be triple chrome plating, high gloss paintwork and polished stainless fasteners, or a return to original showroom type finish, through to a refurbishment for a bike that will be used as regular transport. They always try to reuse and refurbish as many of the original parts as possible rather than replacing with replica items.
The level of service and attention to detail is shown by the many UK race titles won over the last 15 years on solos and sidecars, and more recently a win in the UEM five hour classic endurance race at Cartagena, Spain, an impressive feat on 50-year-old motorcycles.
