On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the Isle of Man Centre of the Velocette Owners’ Club will celebrate the centenary of Veloce’s first Isle of Man Tourist Trophy win with a ride around the TT circuit.
In 1926, the legend goes that following a test ride, star rider Alec Bennett, already a two-time Senior TT winner, said he’d ride a Velocette in the Junior TT, and if he didn’t win, he’d not expect to be paid.

Bennett’s confidence proved prescient, for he scorched to victory on his 350cc bevel-drive overhead camshaft model which, among its attributes, also included fully recirculating oiling. The motorcycle set the standard for what was required of a race winner, as well as spawning a legacy.
