Bonhams’ Stafford extravaganza

There are a whole host of exciting, interesting and occasionally jaw-dropping machines in Bonhams’ autumn Stafford sale, on October 15.

As well as the clear headline acts – including the Pierce Arrow on page 64 of this issue, and the Broughs and Vincents – are some other less obvious interesting artefacts; a 1933 Silver Arrow Matchless (the narrow-angle side-valve V-twin) for example, plus a ‘cammy’ Square Four and a quite splendid 1950 AJS 7R, both shown. A single-cylinder 1914 Excelsior (American X in the UK) is quite lovely, too.
