Graham Lampkin is all set to take the high road to Shetland... and aims to raise cash for charity in the process. However, ‘Lampy’ is also looking for help and suggestions from OBM readers as he travels to the Shetland Classic Motor Show...
Most people heading for June’s Shetland Classic Motor Show will be taking to main roads on a modern bike. But Graham plans to travel on either his BSA or Royal Enfield, off road as much as possible, and is raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Graham, who lives in Colne, Lancashire, decided on the challenge in a “moment of madness” following a suggestion by his daughter. The show takes place over June 5-10, and includes a public exhibition from June 7-8. BSA works legend Arthur Lampkin has also endorsed the trip.
Normally a 346 mile trip to the Aberdeen ferry by road, the off-road version will be longer and he needs help and local off-road expertise.
