Thousands of classic motorcycle enthusiasts have descended on Newark Showground for the opening day of the first classic event of the new year...

The Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic is open for business with the crowds coming to take advantage of the array of trade stands and autojumble plots, and study the rows of stunning machines on display.

In the first main event of the day, 1980s race legend and former 12 time British champ, Roger Marshall took to the stage in a fascinating and revealing interview with compere Steve Plater.

Marshall shared anecdotes from his racing days – which included stories about iconic names such as Barry Sheene and Wayne Gardner – as well as more light-hearted tales from his life away from the track which kept showgoers entertained.
