Are you restoration’s young star?

By Bertie Simmonds, 20 September 2013

Up and down the country there is a new generation of young motorcycle enthusiasts who are being drawn into the fascinating world of classic machine restoration...

That is why Classic Bike Shows, along with respected restorer John Wyatt, have created a new prize to reward a restoration by a young person.

The Rising Sun award, to be judged and presented at the 20th Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show this October 19-20, will see a restorer aged under 25 gain recognition for their excellent work.

John says: “I would be delighted to see this award won by a teenager; we certainly need to dispel the myth that young people don’t have a place in classic motorcycling, and encourage more youngsters to restore and ride classic machines.”
