Classic news in brief

• Donington happening
The Lansdowne circus is one of many attractions at Donington’s classic racing festival over August 9-11. Colin Seeley is also organising a lot of special machines to be on display too.

• Scott news
Roger Moss issues a free Scott biased newsletter on request, to encourage folks to learn more about these machines and hopefully give confidence to take the plunge and buy one. Email Roger at rmoss115@gmail.com for details.

• Join D&C for a tour of the dales
Do you fancy a guided tour of the Yorkshire Dales on a motorcycle? D&C Classic Motorcycles can help you out, as it offers accompanied rides on Royal Enfield Bullets or green lane trips on ex-British Army Armstrongs. Visit www.dcclassicmotorcycles.co.uk or call 01535 630137 for details.

• ‘Cheers’ to the Borders Show
This year’s Borders Classic Bike Show will take place at Lacon Childe School, Cleo Mortimer, Shrops on September 14-15.

All of the monies raised at the show will be given to local community charities.

A special beer has been brewed by Hobson’s Brewery (www.hobsons-brewery.co.uk or 01299 270837) in honour of Jim Reynolds, for years the driving force behind the show and still compere. The ale Uncle Jim is on sale up to the festival.
