After last year's near-washout, it required a measure of bravery for Horsham Historics to go ahead with planning for this year's show, held over the weekend of July 13-14, the 25th of these annual occasions...
Ardingly Vintage & Classic Vehicle Show

Hampshire exhibitor, Shane Burrows and his 1923 600cc Sunbeam Model 7 complete with Sunbeam No.1 sidecar

In the contrary way of the British weather, exhibitors and visitors had to endure tropical temperatures this year. The organisers tried a new site layout to try and make everything more accessible, as the show caters for all forms of wheeled transport.

The motorcycle section was well supported with more than 160 entries, including a half-dozen sidecar outfits. It had been re-located to the west side of the showground, with some welcome shade from nearby trees. Tony Donnithorne had the oldest bike present, his well-known 1913 Zenith Gradua was one of a dozen or more pre-war machines. Anthony Scrace's nicely restored 1933 250 P108 LS Peugeot had been hidden during the wartime occupation of its home country. The large majority of the entry was firmly in the classic era.

On each day of the show the bikes got their chance to parade in the arena. This was much smaller than last year, but it was also considerably less bumpy, according to those with relevant bruising experience.
