Ride across Europe is open for entries

By Dan Sharp, 6 February 2013

Scooter and motorcycle riders from around the world will cross Europe and visit nine of its finest cities during an eight day adventure this summer – and you could join them...

The first Cross Europe Challenge, between Italy and Spain, begins in Naples on June 22 and passes through four countries covering a total of 1050 miles (1700km).

The first three days’ ride will be on Italian countryside roads with overnight stops in Rome, Florence and Genoa. The second leg enters France with a stopover in Nice, then it’s on to Monaco before a second stop in France at Montpellier. The ride then concludes in Barcelona, Spain.

Event spokesman Ahmad Elzoghby said: “We are keen to provide a first rate riding experience to participants. Only a limited number of places are available, so riders who are willing to join should make sure they meet the selection criteria and hold valid international driving licences. We want to offer the scooter and motorcycle riders a one of a kind adventure in some of the most beautiful parts of the world.”

Participants will ride their own machines and the minimum capacity is 150cc due to highway regulations in Europe.

Registration is open until March 15 on the event’s website www.crosseuropechallenge.com or www.facebook.com/CrossEuropeChallenge
