Don’t poo-poo these as ‘modern contraptions’. These give you the option of a modern throttle, adjustable for four different ratios of turn for your classic road or race bike...

Robby Moto Engineering (RME) are the guys behind these Quick Action Throttles. As well as the four cam ratios, they have just launched a new universal cable kit with separate nipples which you can cut to size to suit your machine – this means bikes from the 1970s through to the 1990s are covered.

Prices start at around £130. More information from www.moto46.co.uk

We’re a bit handlebar/throttle oriented this month, but what the heck. These are from our German friends at LSL. The LSL Sports Grip are new, have a straight and slim body shape to help with comfort and control. In addition they are very durable and offer perfect adhesion to your mitts.

The grip comes with a groove on either end to secure the rubber with locking-wire – in case you race or like the race look. They come in dark grey and are made for 22mm bars with open ends to accommodate bar weights.

Priced from £10 up. More info from  www.lsl.eu
