Hesketh celebration

About a dozen shining Hesketh motorcycles, plus their owners, rode along the high street and then parked in the square as part of the British motorcycle’s 30th anniversary, which was inspired by Lord Hesketh who lived just outside Towcester in the stately home at Easton Neston in the early 1980s.

Mick Broom, the bike’s prototype constructor, developer and later owner of Hesketh Motorcycles said: “It’s been a very successful weekend and a great way to commemorate 30 years of the bike. But in another way I don’t really want to think about it, as I’m 30 years older than when it was first constructed!”

The club members later went off to Whittlebury Park for a celebration barbecue.

On Sunday morning a small group of Hesketh owners rode off from the Market Square to meet up with members in Holland, Germany and Switzerland.
