Powerful classic motorcycles will thunder around an Italian circuit more closely associated with Formula One cars when a new race is launched...
Fifty teams of two or three riders each will compete in the 4 Hours of Imola Classic at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari track at Imola on September 22.
There are three race categories – Formula 750 for serial models up to 1981 with four-stroke 750cc engines, Formula Imola 750 for models up to 1985 with four-stroke engines 750cc engines with two valves per cylinder and Classic for models up to December 31, 1981, with a displacement of more than 340cc.
Organisers say the event was inspired by the 4 Hours of Spa Classic and the winners will receive their own body weight in Motul products.
Until 2007, Imola was home to the Formula One San Marino Grand Prix.
