Folding MX kick-start

Change footrest position and you can run into problems with the kick-start lever, in which case this tough fold-away MX lever may be the answer to your troubles...

Naturally if you’ve got standard footrests then standard set-up works exceedingly well but if you change anything then often several other points have to change too. For instance the footrests on the Old Bike Mart Triumph are now in a more MX position and that places the right-hand side one smack bang on the kick-start. It’s not too much of a problem when on the road, but in a scramble it makes the rider’s legs stick too far out. This folding kick-start prevents that and makes for a more comfortable riding position on or off road. It has the benefit of being strong so if you put the compression up to methanol levels it’s still possible to kick it over without breaking.

The starter folds out past the silencer, is held in place by a spring and is finished in a bright zinc. If you really wanted then you could chrome plate it for show and add a kick-start rubber too.

Cost is a quite reasonable £68 plus post and packing and it can be purchased from Terry Weedy at Avery Products on www.terryweedy.com  telephone 02380 613690 or email Terryweedy@hotmail.co.uk
