In our local paper there is an announcement that Elizabeth Mavrogordato, widow of the great Noel, has died at the age of 96
Mrs Mavrogordato

Sadly, the funeral has already taken place or I would have gone, as she was a lovely lady and we had many interesting conversations about Noel and the old days – particularly about his idea of teaching her how to ride a bike by putting her on an ABC and starting her forwards. When she asked how to steer it, he told her to work it out before she hit something and let her get on with it!

I think that she died towards the end of March.
