Racing gem

I hope this finds you well and in good cheer. After the correspondence about where all the old racers have gone, I enclose a photo which may be of interest.
Racing gem

I think it captures a scene which won’t return. I met number 44 recently, after 35 years, and he loaned me the picture.

It was taken at Knockhill, July 1976, waiting in the holding area. Riders are Ron Williams, Scott, number 44; Dave Reid, Ariel, 57; Tom Gaynor, Rudge, 76; and myself, Velocette, 71.

This was racing with the old Scottish vintage racing club when you raced what you had. Dave Reid is no longer with us; he was an ex-Scottish champion and later both Tom and myself did likewise too.
