One of the first companies to use water cooling in its motorcycles, Scott gained rapid success taking several TT wins and numerous lap records...
Founder of the Scott motorcycle company was a Mr Alfred Angas Scott. A highly intelligent and free thinking man, Scott was educated at, among other places, Abbotsholme school near Uttoxeter, which is where, every year, the owners club now holds its annual rally. Born in Bradford in 1874, Alfred Scott was schooled both in Scotland and then, for his final year, at Abbotsholme. Fiercely self reliant, he never did things in a straightforward and orthodox way – hence his motorcycles.
