Not all makers relied simply on gaskets for a sound cylinder head joint. This BSA Gold Star cylinder barrel features a boss which mates into a machined recess in the cylinder head. To ensure a gas-tight seal, BSA included a multi-layer gasket too. A proven set-up which withstood regular racing use
