This stud has been cut to simulate a break with 10mm exposed. Having applied penetrating oils, heat or cold as appropriate, often a grip wrench such as a mole-grip will do the trick – once free most fasteners spin out easily. Carefully does it, if the stud is broken off at ‘ground level’ the problem suddenly worsens. Some heat on the casing will help
